Journey to the south, day 1

... destination, Sorsogon!

a friend ask to accompany him on his way back to davao, via road.. its like driving 4/5 of the philippines! will take you 2 to 3 days depends on the schedule of the ferry boats. anyways, a great opportunity for me to travel and see that part of the country i have not yet visited. we asked another friend aswell to join us, VER or egoy, who did not think twice, we leave our town, navotas early morning at 5am.. hoping to reach sorsogon in daylight.

my first time to see the SLEX extension connecting to STARTOLL, it was suppose to help you avoid the traffic at the old road, and speed up your travel, if you were not lost. lol. we took the wrong exit, and we have to go back and find the right one, which took us an hour to locate the right path.. we ate our lunch at lucena, quezon and grab a snack at gumaca quezon-where we stop for a while to visit a dear old college classmate who serve us good snack, and some take home bread to eat on the road.

the road, in between gumaca and tagkawayan, quezon going to bicol region is awesome! the view, the nature, from mountains to ocean, you were like driving in a very isolated and vast, road..

i did not see the beauty of mt. isarog, a mountain stood in the vast open flat lands.. (seen it twice before this travel-its like, isarog reminds me of mt. banahaw they have similar looks and structure) its already dark and hazy. nor have seen mt. mayon, so sad for VER it was his first time suppose to see, but anyways, we reached Legazpi, albay at 8pm, drove around the area looking for some place to eat, but my friend lost his track going to sorsogon, as we ask around for that direction, we were driven out of the city until we realized we are back into the highway and nowhere to eat, we decide to go straight to sorsogon and eat the bread my classmate gave me, just to fill our stomach.

from legazpi to sorsogon is a dark road, people here are like sleep early. lol. theres not much any stop overs to stretch or to relieve ourselves from call of nature.. its my 2nd time seeing sorsogon, the city, hoping, we still try to look for anywhere to eat, but seems all establishments along the road closed early.. it was only 10pm lol.. we decide to go straight at matnog wharf, where we can find a store to eat, hopefully!

we have no idea what is the schedule of the ferry boats, but we are seeing bus flying on the road, passing us, heading towards our direction and we thought, there might be a boat on schedule and as we arrived at the matnog wharf by 12mn, a guy ushered us inside and told us, there is a ferry leaving in 30mins! my friend processed all the permits and documents and we are off to the boat! we drove the van, inside the ferry and alight ourselves and go up on the deck, after we settle ourselves and the van, we start to feel the pang of hunger! and there is nothing to eat! .. we were rushed by the consequences and have no time to buy any food.. ggggrrrooowwwlllll... im hearing my stomach! lol

... to be continued..
